Good news! You told us that you’d like a choice between print and digital teaching materials for the Shine curriculum. So, we are offering both print and digital options. Everything you need to teach is included in Shine’s new Teaching Kits. Ordering is simple, just choose your format: print or digital.

Teaching Kits provide a full quarter of flexible session plans and resources to help children and junior youth experience the Bible story. Teaching Kits include a teacher’s guide with 13 sessions along with posters and storytelling resources to enhance learning.

Teacher’s Guides

Shine’s teacher’s guides are designed to give you tools to prepare and lead your children or youth in engaging the Bible stories each week. Each session includes:

• handy At-a-Glance chart with “to do” and supply lists for each section of the session
• an essay that provides background information about the Bible story, reflection questions, and a prayer
• creative storytelling methods, wondering questions, and discussion prompts
• variety of activity ideas for responding to the Bible story
• media suggestions and informative teaching tips
• reproducible letter for families to help connect church and home
• Teaching Aids pages with resources for use during the session

Each quarter, your teacher’s guide will include a QR code and URL that provides access to additional faith formation articles and information on a variety of topics to aid you in your ministry of teaching.

Teaching Posters

Each Teaching Kit includes four full-color Teaching Posters—two that provide the Bible Memory passages for the quarter and two additional posters that help children connect with the Bible story. These additional posters may include maps, games, or creative activities to help children and youth engage the Bible story.

The PreK-Kindergarten kit also includes full-color story pictures. The Elementary kit includes the “Follow the Story” Cards.
