At the midpoint of our five-year Shine Everywhere grant initiative, one of its most significant developments is the growing integration of at-home faith formation into Shine Curriculum itself. Shine Everywhere is shaping the future of Shine: Living in God’s Light Curriculum and deepening the connection between faith practices at church and at home.
Beginning in fall 2026, Shine’s newly redesigned curriculum will include at-home resources for every age level, marking a lasting convergence between Shine Everywhere and Shine Curriculum. This shift ensures that the at-home emphasis developed through the Shine Everywhere initiative will continue past the life of the grant, becoming a permanent feature of Shine’s approach to Christian formation.
Starting in August, we’re going to offer Partnering with Parents Circles. Shana Boshart will lead small Zoom gatherings of congregational formation leaders to brainstorm ways to help parents in their congregation use the new at-home resources. The circle will start with a brief scripture focus, participants will learn from each other, Shana share what has worked in the past with Shine Everywhere partner congregations, and participants will leave each meeting with ideas for their next steps.
